I am a super busy mom, obviously! I spend my days cleaning, cooking and arranging things. It is incredibly hard to do all I do with 2 little boys that want consistent attention. I decided to look into the baby slings that I have heard so much about. I didn’t think it was going to work with my boys since they are so incredibly active and reach for EVERYTHING! But, I went out and purchased one, and started Journey (my second born twin and most active) in the sling. I WAS SO SURPRISED!!!! He relaxed and went into a trance like relaxed state! He watched all of the things I was doing (cleaning bottles, laundry, restocking baby snacks) and he didn’t even move!

I highly recommend these to all mommies for getting household duties done… and even trips to the mall or Target!

I love the idea of a baby sling. I will have to try that when I have my next baby. I love that you mention going to an offordable website. I see to many celebrities on tv and magazines that spend so much money on baby stuff. Thank you so much for your blog I really enjoy reading it. By the way I absolutley loved your autobiography. I read it in 3 days. I couldn’t put it down.

So, our babies were born around the same time but I didn’t have twins. But I’ve been considering getting a sling or baby carrier of some sort but I’m afraid she’s too big for one now.. How much do your sons weigh?? Love ur blog Jenna! Xoxo

There are a few websites that you can find a “no sew” ring sling, and make your own also. I ordered the rings for like $3. And the fabric was $4. I tried it with my 2 year old to see how sturdy it was, since im pregnant and wanted to try them out beforehand. He loves them too. Although im going to have to sew them anyways, bc of the edges fraying, but thats not too hard!

I’ve used slings with both of my kids. They are lifesavers!!

YaY! ANOTHER gr8 recommendation frm Jenna!!

I have a small baby ‘n JUST ordered one off of Amazon! ;D I trust your rec’s b/c I ALSO have the Remington Hot Rollers you suggested to us, I also have LashBlast AND CarbonBlack Voluminous (couldn’t decide!), got Sally Hansen’s “leg makeup”, and lastly, picked up 4 cute hair bow clips to hold my bangs to the side the way you did in ur one pic!

OH! and not to mention how I LOVED ur idea of only putting a FEW falsies on ur eyelashes rather than the whole set (takes less time & I have 2 children as well so I feel ya girl!)

Keep ‘em comming! We LOVE everything so far Jenna! AWESOME RECOMMENDATIONS! ;D

Its so cool to see you talking about baby wearing! It makes life as a mom so much easier. For people who want carriers that will distribute weight more evenly (I have a small build, a bad back, and a big baby, lol) try a baby wrap instead of a sling. mobybaby.com or metromamma.com both have some super cute ones. They are really comfy to wear, and distribute baby’s weight over your entire torso. You can totally wear bigger babies and toddlers too. A mei tei carrier can be great for when they are bigger.

I have two different slings. One of them is called a Baby Katan. It is made so that if you have twins you can carry both of them at the same time. While I don’t have twins, my son weighs about the same as two babys. 25 lbs and he is only 10 months. I put him in that and I can get TONS done. I also have a Peanut Shell one that the regular sling. I LOVE them both!! I got the Baby Katan at a shop here in San Antonio, called Bloom Maternity. You can search them on the web. I hope that helps for all the mamas with twins.

I love baby wearing. The best baby wearing sling is the Moby Wrap! I’ve seen them all but this one I was scared to use because it seemed complicated. IT’S NOT! so easy to use.. they have videos showing all techniques on the website or youtube. Also when baby is not in the Moby.. it looks like I’m wearing a cute shawl..LOL
I get people coming up to me all the time asking what, where and how I got my Moby wrap.. it’s a stylish way to baby wear- plus super comfy for mom and baby. I always wear mine to Disneyland and shopping. PLUS you can wear the child in a moby much longer than a traditional sling with comfort.
    Thanks for great suggestions!

If you like the sling you will love a wrap….I bought a Moby Wrap for my little one who is now almost 9 mos. and it is the best investment I ever made and along with that we get to snuggle and be close to one another all the time!!

Wait until you discover other carriers! I have a Babyhawk, which is a version of a Mei Tai. And I don’t know how I lived without it.

  18. kcvf Says:

Yeah, baby sling definitely a good one for busy mum. Probably next, you need to find some baby clothes that will require less to take care with.

  19. Briana Says:

Hi Jenna!! I just read your blog about the baby slings.. I also have twin boys that were born in June 09.. I WISH they made a double sling or something of that nature.. There are alot of things that I wish they made doubles of!!

  20. Stone Fox Says:

holy COW i LOVE wearing my little fartman. here is a fantastic website for all types of slings, carriers, positions, etc. YOU DON’T NEED TO BUY A SLING. you can use normal stuff around the house. or, if you’re a Super Keener, you can make one (it takes half an hour. seriously.) i carry my little dude on my back using just a fleece blanket. i forget what the name of the carry is, but i love this website. it is absolutely the best EVER. (i am not affiliated or being paid by these guys, i think they are a bunch of we-love-wearing-our-babies moms; i tend to go completely overboard when i find stuff i love and get obnoxious about it.)

    the site: wearyourbaby [dot] com

go forth and wear your babies.

Jenna, i think its awesome that you have a ‘mommy-stuff’ area. There are a lot of great milfs out there and we should share our info!! im looking to have a few things nipped and tucked after 2 babies. Any suggestions out there?

    Hi Jenna,

I watched your Opera appearance yesterday (Being in Australia, everything is delayed from the US) – You are incredibly inspiring and heartwarming with your empires you have built and now caring for your two beautiful baby boys.

I have worn my daughter in a sling since she was born. Changing slings as she gets older. They benefit incredibly from baby-wearing emotionally and it is incredibly handy!! I love the Ergo, since now Adaya is getting heavier she needs to go on the back!! http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/

I love your page and your blog! I heard about your book when speaking about it on Opera and it is my next book to read.

    So inspiring! Love your ways!

    Warmly,
    Hannah Andrews x
