I spend my days filled with getting vomited on, and dodging saliva, bananas, and soggy Cheerios. I have always heard from all of my other mommy friends, that they spend their days clad in sweats and old boyfriend T shirts. I always told myself I wouldn’t fall into the black hole of not caring how i looked once I gave birth to my much anticipated twin boys. But, once I realized how incredibly hard having children really was, i fell right in line with all of my girlfriends. I mean, who really cares if I look like a fashionista!? Well, I sucked it up… and pushed myself to care about my appearance. Not for anyone else, JUST for myself. Because I feel gorgeous when I glance in the mirror in the morning, and I KNOW Tito notices… and he LOVES it. SO, I wanted to share with everyone my favorite outfit for an everyday, put together, sexy… fashionista look! This is SO easy to achieve!
First off… invest in a “Boyfriend Blazer”. I am obsessed with Elizabeth and James fun black blazer. It is totally wearable and saves you when you get puked on ( I wear a Target black tank top underneath) and I throw on the blazer when I run out the door. I love to pair it with skinny torn jeans and a fun knit hat… It looks so easy, but very put together! You can wear all different kinds of shoes including ballet flats or gladiator sandals… or even risky 5 inch Brian Atwood Lola heels…
but whatever you choose, this outfit will always make you look like a yummy mummy!
Some of my favorite online stores to shop at are
shopbop.com & chickdowntown.com
Let me know your favorite mommy wear!

my favorite outfit to wear as a mummy is in summer a long printed dress with some hot stylish shades…
when it gets cold i like jeans-look alike leggins, a comfortable white/yellow/blue top or tank top with a coloured bra underneath and some boots.

I think it’s awesome that you continue to be a style icon. If anything, it inspires other women to be the same way when they have children. I am certainly going to try it when I have a family! Even the kids, when they get older, will appreciate that their mommy is the most beautiful woman in the world!
Tito also appreciates it, no doubt.
That is a great outfit too. I don’t think this brand is sold where I live though. Your style is so on point, I just LOVE IT!!!!! You never fail to amaze me!!!

Yes, it is good 2 be a yummy-mummy even for yourself. For if momma is happy, everyone follows suit! I like 2 wear costumey jewlery too, like a long necklace w/ jeans & plain target tee…just 2 mix it up. Love your bloggin’ JJ!!

Anything layered is ideal for mommy-ing, even when they’re past the puking/spit-up stage. My son’s moved on to wiping his nose on me.
Oh and Jenna, you rock

I am one of those moms who likes to at least look decent when I leave the house. I have never been able to let myself go even after having my children. I think appreciating yourself and taking care of yourself aside from being a mom is important because then YOU feel good and everyone around you will notice.

I feel the exact same way about my appearance. My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and since she was an infant, I have always made the effort to fix myself up and add a little glam to my everyday attire. I do if for MYSELF as well…I never wanted to be one of those moms who lived in sweats & a messy ponytail either!

Thanks for adding a link to the online stores, though I don’t have twin boys I do have 2 boys, they are 3 months & 19 months old! Only 17 months apart…… (and two older children who are 14 & 12) so between running the older ones to activities & the babies I like to look decent because I am always running into somebody I know…..getting out with the boys can be tough & I do a lot of online shopping.
This blog is great & I really hope it catches on, maybe you can get your own mommy talk show!
Your words of encouragement on looking good even with two little ones are well received. I need to be reminded that I am worth it! Especially since my husband is only 29 years old and 7 years younger than me.

Love the blog!
Since I had my daughter and got back into the swing of dressing together each day, I’ve loved boyfriend jeans paired with frilly yet comfortable tops from Anthropologie. Specifically anything from Ella Moss, Odille or Splendid!
