Kiehl's and me!

As everyone knows, I embarked on one of the most intense and fruitful journeys a woman can make… I got pregnant. With twins, no less! The moment I got the amazing news, so many things rushed through my brain.
#1 Finally I’m going to be a mommy
#2 Am I going to be a good mommy?
#3 Please let me be able to carry them
#4 I’m scared
#5 How am I going to tell Tito?
#6 I’m scared
#7 I can’t wait to tell EVERYONE!
#8 I’m going to be COVERED in stretch marks from twins!
#9 I feel like I’m going to barf
#10 I’m scared
These thoughts all ran through my head in a matter of 2.5 seconds. Well, like most women, the thought of huge cherry red slash marks running the length of my pubic bone to underboobs, was enough to make me cringe.
I had seen and heard many different methods to ward of stretch marks, but I never knew of any that were tried and true. So I set off onmy little journey… and I bathed myself in Keihl’s Creme de Corps morning noon and night, in between my spewing spasms.  No one had every tipped me off on this amazing lotion, I had just begun using it a few years earlier… and decided to continue it. I think that this thick yellow lotion was the key to my winning the battle against those evil battle scars. So, take it for what its worth. In reality, having stretch marks isn’t that big of a deal, considering all we have to do to earn them. So do your best to prevent them, bt don’t beat yourself up if you get them… after all, you should be proud.

you’re lucky! when i was pregnant with my daughter i used cocoa butter for pregnant women & made it to 32.5 weeks without a stretchmark. i got lucky because they didn’t stay red for long & now you barely notice them unless you’re staring hard enough. i’m very proud of them though! after 6 losses my daughter is my miracle baby so, i don’t have any complaints :D

    hey Jenna,

love the blog idea – cant wait to hear about your beauty secrets, you’re flawless so will be greatly appreciated!

My absolute FAVOURITE tip is a mix of olive oil and either salt or sugar depending on how tough your skin is…, mixed together and put on exfoliating gloves and rubbed all over the body in the shower is awesome at removing dead, flaky skin I swear by it before I fake tan!!!

    Take care
    XoXo

That’s great to know for the future…I had thought there was no Kiehl’s in my city, but I looked it up and there are actually 2 locations! I will certainly look into buying this lotion when the need arises. And by the way you look beautiful in the picture!

I wish iknew to use that when I was prego!! ahh I ended up with deep stretch marks, they now have faded but with my weight loss and how deep they are, they are white and deep white and wrinkley ewwww i think its time for a tummy tuck :(

  5. RubyBaybe Says:

Do you think you can use this creme after the battle scars appear? Maybe they will lighten, you think?

  6. Sheyla Says:

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter massage lotion for pregnant women did the trick for me. I applied it every night right after I got out of the shower so that my skin would absorb it right away. I also think that because I gradually (key word) gained weight, my body was able to handle being stretched to the max.

  7. Ivey Says:

As much as my stretch marks are a wonderful sign of my daughter, I will do anything so make them go away! Ive read repeatedly that stretch marks are hereditary, so some people are more prone to them than others. I think your one of the lucky ones Jenna, but I may try your product anyways. Ive been using Bio-Oil for a couple months now and have noticed my stretch marks diminishing. It makes you feel super soft too!

  8. Malin Says:

I can´t wait to read more about your beauty tricks. Who doesn´t want to look as good as Jenna?! You are the best! Love Malin from sweden

  9. shannon Says:

i coated myself with shea butter or anything creamy. i have no stretch marks and went from 109 to 160 lbs! yay!

  10. kim Says:

Glad you didn’t get strechmarks!!! Neither did I, but I rubbed Vitamin E oil on everyday as well as a rich in Vitamin E lotion. It worked!!! When you find out you’re pregnant at 7 months, it’s all about preventive maintnance at that point!!!

  11. Jo Says:

You can hydrate from the inside to drink LOTS of water……

  12. Sheila Says:

I believe that if you keep your skin supple and pliable with any kind of lotion you will ward off stretch marks, that and not gaining a ton of weight all at once. Both of my pregnancies I gained near 40 lbs but used cocoa butter and any kind of lotion I could get my hands on morning, noon and night….lucky me I am stretch mark free. I tell every woman that is pregnant…your new best friend is cocoa butter, buy tons of it now and start rubbing away!!!

Love the blog site. I got stretch marks at a young age from growing to fast. I was a size C in 5th grade, and had hips. I wish I had known about Keihl’s then.

I love your honesty. When I get pregnant I am going to remember what you said. No one ever acts like it’s a scary thing at all. I would though.

    Thank you! xo Jane

p.s. You are so creative! Keep it up…

  21. Chrissy Says:

When i got pregnant with my first child i was 18 and didn’t really know about anything to put on stretch marks so unfortunately i have LOTS of them lol.

  22. Amber Villanueva Says:

Love your new blog. I used Palmers lotion with vitamin E and shea butter. Basically marinated my body in it, never scratched at my tummy and took lots of oatmeal soy baths. I believe were just blessed with great elasticity in our skin. Can’t wait to see those babies of yours and tito’s. Congrats on motherhood! Check out my photos on myspace.com/hiphopfunk of my son Ace and I. I looove him!!! Take care beautiful.

  24. Karen S Says:

If lotion makes you feel better, great. I don’t know that it does anything for stretch marks; studies haven’t really shown an effect. Personally, I didn’t get stretch marks from my baby (although I do have them on my boobs, which went from nothing to D in a couple months — I hear ya, Jane), and I almost never moisturized the belly. It’s all luck.

Big congratulations to all the parents here, especially Sarah!

One small blog critique: The side pictures don’t really enhance the experience. The top photo is pretty and sexy, but if you don’t want to be a porn star anymore, I don’t get the point of some of the skanky photos. We know who you are and what you’ve done, and we like you already. You don’t have to try so hard, Jenna!

  25. mackmommy Says:

I’m pregnant at the moment and am definitely going to give this cream a shot. thanks.. i love this new site of yours.. it’s so girly!

  26. Kyle Svendsen Says:

    I loooove that PETA shirt!

  27. Suzie Says:

Saying, getting stretch marks is no big deal is laughable! Those words are
coming from a beautiful woman who, by the grace of God, didn’t get stretch
marks. Trust me, they are awful and do cause a sense of shame about your body. They’re no badge of honor!

  28. Robert S Says:

I massage a bunch of different types of massage oils on my wife’s belly after each one of our kids. She looks good and has a great body. It bounced back rather nicely.
After 4 you would think it wouldn’t look so good. However after 18 years of marriage…You don’t care either. You just love her for putting up with you.
I’m in Iraq right now…so I wish all of you continues success on your minor problem. However the right man/woman in your life will supersede all!

  29. stacie Says:

I was told by my Dr. that stretch marks are largely genetic. So if your momma had ‘em you will have ‘em no matter what you slather on. My mom didn’t have them and neither do I. I have friends that are skinny, have never been pregnant or overwight that have them.

  30. tootsieknits Says:

aside from the lotion i REALLY want to know why no one in Hollywoodland ever gets stretch marks. WTF? J-lo. none. Britney. none. Angelina. none. Christina. none. granted they have the benefit of photoshop but seriously. why cant ONE famous (and skin baring) mommy get crucial and admit to the stretch marks???

i like that you are blogging but i hope it doesnt get over-run with “fans-only”. Lots of us know that you’re more than CJ and want to enjoy Mama Jenna. Hows Daddy btw?

  31. Kendra Says:

I wish I had stuck to lotioning everything as well as I should have when I was pregnant with my daughter. I made it to 8 mos without a single stretch mark, then got some minimal ones. I’d love to say they don’t really matter, but in a way, they do…and only my opinion, not for someone else.

Great advice. I will pass it on to all my sexy mamas.

  32. Jaime Miller Says:

I used Palmers Cocoa Butter and it worked great for me. Twice :) I have a little boy who is 5 and a 5 momth old little girl. Zero stretch marks :) I have heard that getting stretch marks is a genetic thing though… not sure if that’s true or not. I didn’t want to test it it

  33. Kimberley Says:

would you say this is only good for before you get stretch marks or also after to minimize them?

  34. Eralin Tera Says:

    Hi Jenna,

Best news I have ever heard. I am sure you will be a good mother. Don’t mind stretch marks if you have, you will see the joy and love those little ones bring is amongst anything in life. I would like to see you pregnant. So adorable.. please post pictures.

  35. Gucci handbags Says:
